Natural Jadeite

Vivid, genuine Type A jadeite from the world's two classic sources — Guatemala and Myanmar (Burma). We label the origin on every piece, so you can choose with full information.

The two jadeite sources

True jadeite is found in very few places on earth. Myanmar (Burma)is the traditional home of jadeite, famous for intense "imperial" green. Guatemala is the other great source — genuine jadeite that is easy to import worldwide.

Heads-up: the US and EU restrict imports of Burmese jadeite. If you're ordering to the US/EU, Guatemalan jadeite is the simpler choice — and we mark the origin on every listing.

Jadeite FAQ

Where does your jadeite come from?

From the two classic jadeite sources: Guatemala and Myanmar (Burma). We label the origin on every piece so you can choose what suits you.

What is the difference between Guatemalan and Burmese jadeite?

Both are genuine, natural jadeite — the same mineral. Burmese jadeite is the traditional source famous for 'imperial' green; Guatemalan jadeite is an excellent, widely importable alternative. Note that the US and EU restrict the import of Burmese jadeite, so Guatemalan is the easier choice for US/EU delivery.

Is your jadeite treated?

No. Everything we sell is natural Type A: no bleaching, resin or dye. Certification is provided.

Jadeite or nephrite — which should I choose?

Jadeite is rarer and prized for vivid colour and translucency; nephrite (Hetian jade) is tougher with a soft, oily lustre. See our jadeite vs nephrite guide.
